Or the better question would be, why are they allowed to have internet access at all? They're in prison for a reason and the recent story in the news of prisoners having their Facebook accounts suspended because of them harrassing their victims. Well, gee. These prisoners have nothing but time on their hands. They can spend all day looking for their victims or maybe some new victims.
They're given state of the art gym equipment. Why? So they can work out, get stronger/beefed up so they can overpower the guards (who aren't allowed to carry weapons to protect themselves). They get 3 free meals a day and free room and board. Granted, they don't have the freedom to do things that we, on the outside, can do but they have all the comforts of home right there behind those walls. No wonder there are so many repeat offenders. They get out of prison and decide that life inside the prison walls is much easier.
